Criminal History

Picture of Lady JusticeThe best place to search for a criminal record is at the original source, the courthouse where there is accurate and up to date information. SRCPI, Inc. utilizes a national network of professional court researchers. When you request a court records search in any county or federal district court in the country, our system will automatically send your request to a local researcher that knows how to navigate the court system in that jurisdiction. Some states
aggregate all of their county criminal records into what’s referred to as a statewide repository. Where publicly available, we provide you with the option of searching the statewide repository in lieu of or in addition to the individual county courts. A note of caution: One search covering an entire state may sound great, but not all statewide repositories are updated regularly and it is possible to miss a record when searching at this level. Please talk to us about the pros & cons of using statewide repositories. A county or federal district court search yields the most accurate and up to date criminal record information.

HandcuffsAlso, if you use our national database criminal search, and it shows a record possibly matching your applicant, a “real time” county records search is the best way to verify the accuracy and completeness of the database results. Assuring that your applicants do not have a criminal history that may indicate they could be unfit for the position you are filling means a safer work environment, potentially lower turnover, reduced chances of litigation by customers and co-workers and/or reduced chances of employee theft.

SRCPI, Inc. clients log on to our easy to use, secure on line ordering page. Input your applicant’s information and click submit – and we’ll take it from there.
